High school students kidnapped and killed their teacher during their grades, then tried to cover up the body by covering it with a tarp

Following such a confrontation between a teacher and her students a few days ago, the teacher was found dead and two of her students were arrested for murder. The victim’s body was found under a tarp in a local park several hours after he went missing.

W. Miller, 16, and J. Goodale, 16, were arrested in connection with the murder of the 66-year-old teacher, N. Graber, and both were charged as adults with the misdemeanor degree. murder and first degree conspiracy to commit murder.

Authorities initially suspected the murder was racially motivated, but later said they learned that the students allegedly killed their teacher due to disagreements between grades and that they did not believe the teacher had been killed because of her Mexican origin.

Graber’s cause of death was determined to be head trauma, investigators said. Graber’s body was found under a tarp, wheelbarrow and railroad ties in a public park in Iowa with apparent head trauma.

Authorities received advice from an acquaintance of Goodale and Miller during their investigation, providing them with social media posts in which the accused teens detailed Graber’s disappearance and murder, as well as possible motives and their method. to cover up the crime.

According to court documents, a witness also told authorities they saw the teenagers in the park where Graber’s body was found. After these allegations, authorities served search warrants at the students’ homes and discovered bloody clothes.

According to investigators, Miller admitted to them that he was in the park at the time of the murder, provided materials used in the murder and then helped cover it up. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds expressed his condolences to Graber’s family, colleagues and students via a statement.

Ms. Graber has touched the lives of countless children through her work as an educator across our state sharing her passion for foreign languages. The students were taken into custody and charged with their role in the death of their teacher.

Goodale and Miller are both being held in jail on $ 1 million bail. They are awaiting trial.
